Ward 8 deserves a positive, collaborative councillor who can get things done at City Hall. I am ready for the job.

  • Positive, Collaborative Change.
As I knock on doors across our ward, the top issue I am hearing is a desire for change. Residents want a councillor who can build bridges and work with everyone at the table. As a former WRDSB trustee and current member of Kitchener's Economic Development Advisory Committee, I have the experience and skillset to build bridges at the Council table and get the job done.

  • Build partnerships between Council, neighbourhood associations, and local businesses.
I value equity. This means not only looking at who is at the table, but whose voice is missing. I commit to always seeking out new voices and diverse perspectives to inform my decisions. In my role as a WRDSB trustee, I always hoped to see better collaboration between groups in our school communities. As former Vice-President of the Victoria Hills Neighbourhood Association, a member of the City of Kitchener Economic Development Advisory Committee and a Business Development Officer at the University of Waterloo, I have spent my working and volunteer efforts doing just that across our Region.

  • Prioritize accessibility and inclusion for all ages and abilities.
All of our neighbours deserve to enjoy what our City has to offer. I value accessibility. This means living up to Kitchener's goals of being an Age Friendly community, and our goals of being an accessible community across all of my council and committee work. Accessibility needs to be woven into all of our decisions, be they about Neighbours Day, replacing infrastructure, parks and trails, or accessing records on the City's website. I commit to prioritizing the inclusion of everyone, regardless of age or ability, in my role as your representative.

  • Work in collaboration with Kitchener’s tech sector to promote economic development.
I have over a decade of experience in the tech sector, and I continue to work with Waterloo Region's tech companies and SME's every day. Our business community is looking for a partner at City Hall. Someone who understands the importance of investment in organizations like Communitech. Someone who understands that rising home prices and transit are affecting talent acquisition and retention. Someone who will prioritize innovation and engagement between our government and tech. I am proud to have the endorsements from tech and business leaders, and I cannot wait to partner with and promote our tech sector's potential as Ward 8's new representative at City Hall.

  • Work with neighbourhood partners to promote road safety and active transportation.
I am hearing concerns about traffic on every street in our Ward. People are concerned about safety for themselves, their kids, their aging parents, and their neighbours. I share your concerns about safety for everyone in our neighbourhoods, and I believe everyone - whether they're 8 or 80 - should be confident in crossing an intersection in Ward 8. I commit to prioritizing accessibility, active transportation, and inclusion whenever I am making a decision about infrastructure development, events, or necessary maintenance in our neighbourhoods.
